Electricity remains critical for Uganda to attain the growth trajectory and

socio-economic transformation of its fast-growing population. Since its inception in September 2003, the Rural Electrification Board through its Secretariat the Rural electrification Agency has made major miles stones in scaling up energy access in Uganda. Todate, the Agency has realized over 10,000km of Medium Voltage and approximately 7,000 Km


National Coverage

10% of Uganda's population currently have access to electricity. Download Government Strategy

Government strategy is to acheive 26% electricity coverage by 2022.

Government strategy is to acheive 51% coverage by 2030, and 100% by 2040
